Hey,
I have the exact same problem, but only with the late night expansion and the stuff pack (already had the base game). Where did you read they are looking into the problem?
First problem:
It's normal we rushed and redeemed them on Origin, as the keys are listed as "Origin Keys" on the humble bundle site, and only if you click on a link with instructions you see that those keys are for thesims3.com page. I don't usually need instructions to redeem a HumbleBundle key or any other key as it's a pretty straightforward process, so I just redeemed them on the origin client.
Second problem:
If those keys are meant to be used on thesims3.com site, why does the Origin client accept them? The system should be bidirectional, if I activate a sims game on Origin, it should appear on thesims3.com page too.
Third problem:
Once a key is activated via origin, thesims3.com page says the key is invalid, so it's not possible to activate it there too.
The outcome of activating the games directly on origin is that we get no credit for having the games in the sims3.com page. So I guess that no achievements and other stuff about the games will show there. Don't know if further issues may appear in the future.
Let's hope for a solution and sorry I can't help.
So now I'm wondering if they're going to send out new keys for us or fix the issue internally?
However, from what I have been reading, the installation requires a different length key to the one provided?
If this wan't for a charitable cause, I might be getting a little madder than I currently am. EA, sort your act out! 😕mileymad:
