Absolutely yes, I also think that it could be helpful if this problem became public. I have already tried to make Youtuber aware of it, unfortunately without success. But if you can describe the situation precisely in English and possibly send English screenshots, please try it too (my native language is German). It would be also already good, so that no more people buy Sims 3 products.
With me it is now a good three weeks. Today I tried again to download only the base game, because I could not open and play it for about two weeks (an error message always appeared). The download process ran for about 2 sec, since then it got stuck and shortly after that the EA app crashed as well.
I had hoped that the update of the EA App would bring improvements. Unfortunately, this is not the case at all, which makes me very doubtful that anyone at EA is even dealing with the problem with Sims 3.
I don't expect anyone at EA to care about a solution in 2022. They will most likely just wait until the storm of error messages dies down. Therefore, the only thing we can do is keep sending in such reports so they can't shut it up completely.
I for one am switching to Steam, although paying EA of all people twice for the same product annoys me greatly. However, because of this incident here, I will never purchase a product from them again in the future. So far, I've even bought Sims 4 DLC from time to time - I'm definitely stopping that right now (and games other than Sims don't interest me).
