dettamort Using "save as" doesn't do anything to prevent save corruption. The reason to use it is that if and when your save does get corrupted, you have backups that are (hopefully) intact and can revert to one of those rather than being stuck with only your corrupt main save and automatic backup.
Are you sure your saves are in fact corrupt? The game can crash for various other reasons too. What world are you playing in, and do you use mods or custom content? It's fine if you do; I just need to know.
Please also provide a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
