13 years agoshader model 2.0
Basically my PC refuses to play my installed version of The Sims three due to my graphics card not being 'good enough'. I've been looking around and heard that having directx 9.0 runs shader model 2....
Yes but no options
Try renaming the folder and let the game create a fresh one by starting the launcher without the folder
All your savegames and downloads will be gone from the game but they are still in the renamed folder so don't worry.
Now check if you have the file. If you do, you can move it to your desktop, delete the new folder and rename the old one back to thesims3.com. Now move the options file to that folder.
Again nothing I've decided to go ahead and install and reinstall everything. Maybe it'll appear then although it wil take a while -_- I'll post again once it's installed to speak of my results.
Nope still no options, still won't let me play it. No difference ☹️
Could you post a screenshot of your thesims3 folder in documents please
Upload to some photo sharing site and add the link to your post.
That is weird. Is that the whole folder ? Did you delete the cache files or are you missing those too ?
There are also a few folder that you are missing. Are you updated to the latest patch ?
Did you delete any of these folder:
- FeaturedItems
- Collections
- Custom Music
- CurrentGame.sims3
- IGACache
That's common for non us users.
I've sent you a PM (click on the envelope in the upper right corner)
So you given up then?
Yes. You're issue is so strange, I don't know how to solve it.
Have you tried reinstalling the entire game ?
