Showtime freezes every 15 minutes in game ever since installed it.

I have turned down everything to minimum and I have 1.5 GB of RAM dedicated to the game. I started fresh and I still freeze/lag constantly. I have no mods and no custom or store content. What should I do? I noticed alot of people are having the freezing/lag problem ever since the new update or whenever they install a new ep. Any suggestions? ( I cant reinstall everything because I gave away the ep discs that I had)

  • Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

To gather a DxDiag on your computer, please follow the steps below:

If you have Microsoft Windows XP:
    1. Click the Start button on the Windows Taskbar.
    2. Select Run.
    3. Type dxdiag in the available text field.
    4. Click OK.
    5. Click Save All Information.

If you have Windows Vista/Win 7 and do not have a Run selection:

    1. Click On Start
2 Type dxdiag into Search Box
    3. Click Save All Information.

Either use two posts to post all or only post the part up to [sound device].

Please let me know if you have a switchable graphic card. That usually does not show in the DxDiag.

Check if there are new graphic drivers for your computer. yours are about 3 years old.

I'm rather bad at hard ware diagnosis and I know almost nothing about AMD processors but it seems to me, that CPU is not really made for gaming.  My suggetion to you is to post your DxDiag in the technical part of the official forum where there are people that know about this kind of stuff and maybe can give you a better opinion on your computer.

Other than that, try the suggestions here:  http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Lags-amp-Freezes/td-p/646
