Sim 3 Mystery pregnancy
I'm not sure if this is the right place; I apologize if it's wrong. Anyway- I had my sims try for baby as they both had a wish for another; this will be their 4th (both have surround by children lif...
@jdfoland This is definitely not an alien pregnancy, but it does sound like something has gone very wrong here. Do you use any mods, and if so, which ones? I ask both because a problematic mod could cause this and because another mod or two could clarify the situation. Please also let me know how long you've played, in sim-days, since the pregnancy walk showed up.
Hi! Thanks for the reply. I don't use any mods. She waddled around for almost five full days before the baby coming announcement finally popped up. In all that time she never had the regular pregnancy things or moodlets, with the exception that she couldn't travel. Adding to the strangeness, she just walked out the house and took herself to the hospital. I couldn't get her husband to go with her; no matter how I clicked on both I couldn't get an option to pop up for him to take her to the hospital. I think this game file must just have a quirky glitch or 2. I had to move the family to a new home because in their first one they kept walking through a solid wall to put laundry in to an invisible washing machine, despite having a fully functioning laundry room on the other side of the house 😂
@jdfoland That is quite strange, and to be honest I'm more than a little relieved to hear that she was able to give birth. I guess you could chalk it up to the game being extra weird, but I'd still start making backups. If you use "save as" to rename the save, the old version will remain intac under its original name; you can delete the oldest backups when you know you won't be needing them.
It's difficult to clean up corruption or other problematic data without mods, but one thing you can do in a pinch is to evict your household in Edit Town and place them back, with or without bulldozing and replacing the house. As long as you don't replace the sims with a bin copy, they'll keep their jobs and relationships, although they'll lose their promised wishes and opportunities.
I'm also relieved she gave birth; as the pregnancy continued on passed the original amount of time I was afraid she'd be stuck waddling around in maternity clothes forever! She'll need to go through one more pregnancy to complete her lifetime wish, it'll be interesting to see how the next one goes.
I did the evict household trick a couple times when trying to solve the laundry issue, but it didn't work. Moving lots did, for that one at least, but there's always more to pop up, it's just the nature of the game I suppose lol It gives the game some character at least 😁
