Sim can't get a girlfriend
I'm playing a sim right now who had a girlfriend, but she moved out of the town. I'm trying to get him to become the boyfriend of another sim, but the option to go steady won't come up, even though their relationship it at the maximum. I had a look at his family tree and the game thinks that the sim who moved out is still his girlfriend, even though she isn't in his relationship panel or anything, and therefore won't let him get a new girlfriend. Is there anything I can do to fix this so that he can get a new girlfriend? He wasn't my active household when she moved out of town, could that have anything to do with it?
It's probably a bug. The game has troubles cleaning up relationships properly.
Don't know of any other solutions then to use a mod (can't really talk about that here) or just move the Sim to a new game. All the inactive families will be lost this way but your Sim should have all his progress except the relationships.
To do so, save the sim to the library, start a new game and then place him from the library into your game.
