Sim stuck while moving to University

I am also having the same problem when I tried to go to University for 2 days now. Uninstall and reinstall does not help, nor lowing the graphics to the minimum. Upon clicking the tick to move household to the dom, the tick goes grey and nothing happens. I can still interact with other functions, such as going to option menu, clicking on another dom, move the screen, rotating the screen etc. However, the game just do not proceeds even if I left it for 10 minutes. I am running on Surface Pro with Island Paradise.
Surface pro as in the Microsoft tablet ? Does that even have a graphics card in there ? I'm pretty sure that was not build to play a demanding game like thesims3.
