Sims 3 1.67 update stops downloading after 1.5GB but the file is 1.7GB.

Is there a way to overcome this 1.5GB limit? Where is this coming from? I assume the patch I am downloading is the super patch which contains the accumulation of all patches for all versions since The Sims 3 was introduced. Of course, I don't need any of the patches prior to 1.55.

I am currently at 1.54.95. Can I incrementally update to 1.55 then 1.57 then 1.63 then 1.66 then 1.67 (assuming the incremental file sizes are all under 1.5GB)? Can I download these updates directly from EA.com? I would feel safer downloading directly from you instead of randomly picking a site on the web that claims to have the official version. If I can't get it from EA.com, which site do you recommend downloading them from?

However, he says if your version is lower than 1.66 (which mine is), don't use the incrementals. Is there somewhere that I can get the 1.55 Region 1 (USA) incremental download and then keep using incremental downloads all the way up the chain?
