Sims 3 (64-bit & Metal) Crashes When Promted to Open

I have had a field day with this game.. I have downloaded the 64 bit, and had high hopes for the game to work. Once the game finished downloading from Origin, I cliced "play" and it said 

"Your The Sims 3 Base Game is incompatible with the current Sims 3 Expansion Pack. Please update your game via the game launcher." I searched it up online, then got an answer to delete the Version.tag file. I trashed it then went to open the base game again. When I go to open it I get to the Game Launcher, no further. I click the play button in the Game Launcher (EA Game Launcher not Origin) and nothing happens, the launcher dissapears and then I get a pop up that says the sims 3 has quit unexpectedly thats it. Please show me some assitance!

    @ExoneratedTea  You need to install from Origin and then run the digital download version of the Super Patch, not your regional version.  You can find the worldwide one here:

    Certain packs (Ambitions, Late Night, Fast Lane, and Outdoor Living) need extra help to get installed properly.  If you're installing one or more of those packs and want help with the process, please list all of the packs you plan to install, and I'll post instructions.

    And sorry again, it's been one of those days, except three days in a row.

    @puzzlezaddict I will get right on to that. I have those packs but i wont install them just to avoid the trouble. I only want to install the Pets EP.
