Sims 3 64-bit crashes when loading
Sims 3 metal edition keeps crashing at same point every time. So I have sims 3 metal on 2 computers, both macs. My MacBook I downloaded it and it worked perfectly fine for a couple days (it crashed once but that was because I was playing for 90 mins with no saves), but then it suddenly started to crash right at the end of the load bar when loading into the household. I have also moved it to an external hard drive and it crashed at the same time too.
The other computer I tried playing sims 3 metal on was my family's mac mini, its really old but its software isn't too old. This one crashed at the same point, when trying to load into a family. On both of the computers it loads totally fine through the initial loading screen but once I load into a family to play, it crashes.
I have played sims 3 metal version on both computers before with zero problems (I even played 32 bit sims 3 on the mac mini also no problems). Beforehand, Ive played sims 3 through an external hard drive too without crashing. But for some it developed a new problem where it crashes. I deleted all my mods and all but one of my families and it still crashes. It's really annoying because the problem seems to have come from no where. pls help
@The13Kitty That strongly suggests that the crashing was caused by something in your old Sims 3 folder, whether the issue is the save itself or some other content. What you can do now is copy over the save, nothing else, and see how it runs. Each save has its own folder inside the Saves folder, and you can simply right-click to see the Copy option and then right-click the blank space inside the destination folder for Paste. If the save takes place in a Store or custom world, install that world too, but nothing else. Since you're copying your save rather than simply moving it, you don't need to worry about any missing content: the original will remain intact while you experiment on the new copy.
If the save runs fine, you can transfer over the rest of the content you want to keep, but leave behind cache files and anything else that will get regenerated as needed. Here's an explanation of what the files are:

Copy them over in batches, testing each time to make sure the game still works. If one batch of files causes another crash, you'll need to split it and retest until you find the culprit.
If one of your old saves won't load in the new folder, things get a bit more complicated, but you still have a couple of options. Let me know if this is the case.
