@warmteainmyhand Does this house have a pet in it? If so, please try moving in a household that doesn't have a pet, just as a test.
Please also attach your deviceconfig.log, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3. You can delete your user and computer names, about 25 lines down, but there's nothing else in that file that can identify you.

@VSheriff There are numerous reports that trying to place a household that includes a pet. It would be useful to know whether your crashes in particular are due to the pet or to something else. And please attach the deviceconfig mentioned above as well, so we can see your hardware and settings.

I was able to open the household without a pet, however it still crashed within the first ten minutes of playing... I also am not prepared to accept not having pets as a solve since I consider pets and animals to be an important part of the game.
I hope EA is working on a fix and able to rectify the situation soon... They wouldn't have worked this long to create a 64-bit version for it not to be playable (and I promise to buy more expansions/extra stuff if it does *wink* *wink* *EA employees*)

I agree. We paid for these games and the pets expansion pack is a particularly good game pack I use ALL the time ;-; I definitely won't accept not having pets as the solution. Maybe if we keep calling them and telling them it crashes, they'll open it as an official issue and actually try to solve it ?
- VSheriff5 years agoSeasoned Rookie@puzzlezaddict I have tested to see if this problem was with just households with pets and it is not. My game crashes at random times. It seems to be more when I am choosing a family and trying to play them with or without pets, also it has started crashing sometimes at the launcher screen. I do not know how to do what you are asking me to do

@VSheriff To attach a deviceconfig, open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, find the file on the list, and move or copy it to your desktop. (It doesn't matter, the game will make a new one.) You'll neeed to manually open the folders; the file won't show up in a search. You can open the file with TextEdit and delete your user and computer names, about 25 lines down, but there's nothing else in that file that can identify you. Then you can attach it to a post by cliking the Browse button below the text field and selecting the file.
