  • @8horrors  I've split your post into its own thread since the other thread was somewhat old.  In general, it's best to create your own thread when the one where you might post is more than a year old or when it's not an exact match for your issue.  I'll see your post here regardless of whether it's in a new thread or an old one.

Are you talking about Store content, which is EA-made content that you (mostly) need to buy with SimPoints?  Or does this also include content from the Exchange, made by other players and free for download?  I ask because Exchange items can come bundled with hidden custom content, and this cc can be broken to the point of preventing your game from launching at all.

There are ways to clean Exchange items of their cc, and ways to test them first to see whether they come with anything problematic.  But once you get to the point where the game isn't loading properly, the content just needs to be removed entirely.  I can help with that, but please do let me know what kind of content we're talking about.  It would be odd for Store content to have this effect, but I don't want to ignore the possibility.

hii i’m so sorry for getting to this kinda late

but yes! it’s just store content. i downloaded some cc and my game wasn’t working so i uninstalled it thinking that was the issue (i’ve been playing the game since 2013 and have always used cc ik how buggy it can be) but then when i added my store content back it was still crashing and wouldn’t load i got it to load up ONCE and it won’t again (i had to press the play button five times force quit etc) but i think my computer might just not be able to handle the sims i was playing yesterday on my boyfriends pc gaming laptop with NO ISSUE loading the game the graphics were flawless etc etc

keep in mind my macbook is one update behind due to “disc storage being full” it won’t update ? i don’t know if this is an issue of why

thank you again for your response and if you have any advice let me know! the sims is my favorite so i’d hate to not be able to play the game will run if i click disable custom content it’s just always kinda laggy for me beyond that anyways LOL i turned my graphics down and everything it’s just not working?

@8horrors  The problem isn't likely to be that your Mac hasn't updated its operating system.  But it could definitely be that you're too low on free storage.  How much do you have?  Click the Apple icon in the upper-left corner of the screen and select About This Mac > Storage, and let me know the free and total storage available.
