Sims 3 64 bit on Mac keeps freezing yet can still play in background
I recently decided to see if my MacBook Pro would run the sims 3 after having an issue previously and not playing it for a while. I get about 5-10 minutes into the game and then the screen freezes. However, I am able to click pause/play and select different things in the game just the screen freezes but I can still move my mouse and select things. For example, two of my sims are having a conversation and I go to speed it up or select something and the screen freezes, my mouse gets the little colourful loading circle and then I can click things in the game, but my screen is frozen on those two sims. I am able to hear the mouse clicks and I can go into open world/map and click the little '...' in the corner, it just doesn't pop up on my screen yet I can hear it running in the background. I'm not sure why it's doing this, I don't have any mods or custom content installed, just store content but before I downloaded the store content the issue still happened. My MacBook Pro and The Sims 3 are up to date. And when I click command + enter to get it to a smaller screen and exit the game as I can't exit from it unless I shut my MacBook down completely. This exact problem has happened twice roughly during the same thing, I don't know if it's the amount of sims in a household (three) or the town I play in (Bridgeport) or the amount of expansion and stuff packs I have installed but I would like to play my game with all of those add-ons and running somewhat smoothly on my MacBook. Any advice or solutions to try would be great, I've searched around but I haven't found anything specific to my issue exactly.
