hello, the sims 3 ambitions, my profession is a researcher, how can I look for clues without magnifying glass?

When you say a researcher, I'm not sure sure what you mean. Like a Private Investigator, a Scientist, a Doctor? With a magnifying glass? I'm really not so clued up.
