I'm having issues with the audio. There's no sound, i checked the settings and ive seen posts about deleting stuff in folders but they're so old that idk if it works anymore and am scared to try

KellyCKnight You don't need to delete any files. Instead, rename the Sims 3 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts. This will prevent the game from reading the files inside, but the data will be intact and usable again later. In the interim, the game will create a new Sims 3 folder with no content.
If this doesn't help, you can delete the new Sims 3 folder, change the old one's name back to "The Sims 3." and move on to other troubleshooting approaches. I would suggest trying a different sound output device that uses a different type of connection, for example built-in speakers vs. headphones connected via jack or USB. Make sure no other sound devices are connected while you're testing, other than built-in speakers of course. Let me know if one of the devices works.
