Sims 3 crashes when loading save
This happens with me aswell. When I try to open sims 3, i get all the way to loading my family up, when it crashes the whole game. Why is this happening?

@CopperBruiser788 I've split your post into its own thread because your issue is different. If you had the same problem as the original poster, the game wouldn't load past the launcher.
At any rate, can you load a new save? Please test and let me know either way. Please also post a screenshot of any error message you see when you load your main save. It's fine if you don't get one; I just need to know either way. I also need to know whether you use mods or custom content, which is fine as well but has to be taken into account.
@puzzlezaddict I tried to load a new game and it does make it to make new people. I have not tried playing a new game yet.
There is no error message, it just closes the game completely.

@CopperBruiser788 Try loading the backup copy of the save. Go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Saves, and you'll see a folder with your save's name plus another one with the same name and a .backup extension, for example SunsetValley.sims3 and SunsetValley.sims3.backup. Change the name and delete the .backup, e.g. SunsetValley1.sims3, and that save will be available to select at the Main Menu. Let me know whether it loads properly.
If it does load, I'd suggest using "save as" and renaming the save, again, so the former backup stays intact should you need it again.
@puzzlezaddict I tried this just now. Now I can¨t log in to my account on the sims 3 either, and also it has not changed the outcome. It still crashes after a little while when loading the family.
