@ellastokesxox When you say you've tried to adjust the in-game framerates but it hasn't worked, do you mean that capping fps hasn't helped, or that you can't actually cap it? The way to test is by opening the cheats console (crtl-shift-C) and entering "fps on" without quotes. A number will appear in the upper-right corner of the screen, and it should never go above the limit you've set.
If the fps cap isn't being honored, that's the first thing to fix. Not only is high fps a likely cause of the crashes, capping it is good for the long-term health of your laptop. So please let me know either way.
