Try updating your graphics card drivers. Yours are from 2010.
Also, are you using custom content or mods in your game ?

Yeah, I've updated my drivers now (still crashing). I have custom content, but all of it is from the Sims 3 website (purchased) and from the Sims 3 exchange. I had all of that in the game prior to adding Roaring Heights and Generations...In fact, I had all of it prior to Into the Future and Island Paradise. It never caused a problem before.

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps/td-p/714/
You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.
