Sims 3 doesn't start

My Sims 3 is stuck at the 'connect to Store account' screen (see screenshot). I don't know how to fix this, it has been doing this for about a year. The chat-help advised me to put it in the Forum since he couldn't help me with this either. I am logged in to my Store account in the Sims 3 Launcher.

  • @annepuck123  Do you have a Mac?  If so, go into Applications > Utilities, open Keychain Access, search for sims3 , and delete anything you find.  Then try again to play without signing in.

    If you have a Windows PC, clear Edge's Internet Explorer-mode data, and try again.

    Thank you for the reply, unfortunately, this doesn't work. I indeed have a Mac.

    @annepuck123  Please clear Safari's cache and history, basically everything you can find.  (This will remove active logins, so make sure you know your passwords.)  Then go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Downloads and delete the file labeled [your email].bin.  Then delete the sims3 entries in Keychain Access again.

    The idea here is to clear every bit of data related to the in-game login.  This will NOT make the login work; it will simply stop the game from trying to sign you in automatically again.  So don't sign into the launcher or the Main Menu; just try to play without that.

    @annepuck123  Please create a new admin user account on your Mac and try playing there.  Don't connect it to your Apple ID (you can skip that step), and don't import any data either using the options your Mac offers you or by downloading your content manually.
