Sims 3 error occured
Everytime I start my sims 3 game and load my saved file a popup saying a serious error has occured. Everything I've done so far hasn't worked. I've tried contacting Ea Support for help,but everytime ...

@Despop919 Yes, that's what I was wondering. So the saves are in the Saves folder inside the Sims 3 folder? The individual saves can't be floating just within the Sims 3 folder, or the game won't see them.
If the saves are in fact in the Saves folder, please check the last modified date on the deviceconfig.log in the same Sims 3 folder. It should match the last time you launched the game. If it doesn't, that means that there's a second user data folder somewhere that the game is reading instead of the one where you've put your saves. You can open a File Explorer window and search for "deviceconfig" without quotes; any Sims 3 user data folder will have exactly one of these, and you'll be able to go to the original location to see where the other folder is located.
I'm sorry,can you give a step by step instruction on how to do that? Again,sorry just not very computer-intelligent at all.
@Despop919 It's really easy if you look at the files. But sure.
- Open the Sims 3 folder that has your saves.
- In that folder, scroll down to deviceconfig.log.
- Look at the date and time on it, to the right of the file name.
- Does it match the last time you launched Sims 3? If you're not sure, launch the game again, and check back.
If the deviceconfig's timestamp doesn't match:
- Click This PC in the left panel of a File Explorer window.
- Paste deviceconfig into the search bar in the upper right corner, and enter.
- Wait for the search to finish.
- If your computer has more than one file, look at the file paths for each one, which will be listed below the file name.
- Click on the one that is not the one you were looking at before, as in, it's not in the Sims 3 folder you opened before.
- There should be an icon above the list of files that says Go to File Location or something similar. Click it.
- Copy the file path for that deviceconfig, and paste it here.
- If you have a bunch of deviceconfig files, repeat for all of them.

@Despop919 Alright, try this. Move your entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. (Rename it first if there's already a Sims 3 folder there.) Launch the game and quit at the Main Menu. Open Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves, and place one save folder into that Saves folder. Then launch the game and see whether the save is there.
Hi,sorry,I followed a sim reset article before this and so I have two sims 3 folders now.
I did figure out how to find this save data on the game per your instructions,though! I just need to access it,by downloading the expansion world I had before.

I was able to access the save again,but it still said error,and I just wanted to get back to playing so I just deleted the file and started a new save. Thanks for all your help,though!
