Mutlitab 6000 Tabcast not functional

I downloaded the tablet store content which I bought a while back, and so far it seems to be working 75% of the time. the 25% is to do with the tabcast feature not functioning as it should. The animation plays out as normal, but no ear device is shown and no moodlet is visible.

I want to know if there's a fix for this issue, as older posts about this doesn't seem to work and few had a link to an FAQ page which is now non existant as it sends me back to the main Sims forums page.

    RigbyLancer_095​  Most of the fixes for the multitab are for it not working at all, which is typically a case of a bad install (or rather a corrupted ccmerged file, part of the Store files).  As for why it works some of the time but not always, is there any pattern to what your sim is trying to use it for?  Maybe there's an issue with a particular skill or with the sim trying to multitask with another particular action.
