Sims 3 Family disappearing?

So today i was playing Sims 3 and noticed that in game had some bug. Example i tried "turn off fire" from the fireplace and tried move mouse on several objects but it didn't showed any options. I thought it is just some temporary bug and it will work normally if i just restart game. So i did " save and quit". When i was trying to go back in the game, it just takes me to the neighbourhood/Create new household. I will put few pictures how it looks like, hopefully some can help me with this 🙂 First picture is from the main menu and second one shows my Sim in uploads for some reason.  I have checked my files also, and i see family in files.

  • @meakaren  Try loading the backup copy of this save.  Go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Saves, and you'll see two folders with your save name, for example SunsetValley.sims3 and SunsetValley.sims3.backup.  Rename the second one and delete the .backup extension (e.g. SunsetValley1.sims3), and it should be available to load from the Main Menu.

If the backup is also affected, can you choose to load your old household from the setup screen?  If not, can you choose a different household to play?  In that case, try sending those sims to visit your old household's lot and see whether anyone lives there now.

It dont work with deleting the backup file. Also tried with other household, no one lives in apartment. Though i still see the "empty" family logo in main menu." If the backup is also affected, can you choose to load your old household from the setup screen? "   <--------  What do you mean with this? Sorry i dont understand this thorougly. Where from setups? In game setups or somewhere else setups? :D

@meakaren  I didn't mean that you should delete the backup save.  I meant that you should load the backup save, which is only possible if you delete the .backup part of the save name.  That means, in turn, that you have to rename the backup so it doesn't have the same name as your main save.

As a more concrete example, you might open the Saves folder and see these folders:

    SunsetValley.sims3

    SunsetValley.sims3.backup

    After renaming, you'd see this:

    SunsetValley.sims3

    SunsetValley1.sims3

The first of the two would still be broken, but you could load the second one at the Main Menu.

For the other part, you had said that loading the save puts you into the game setup screen, where you can choose to create sims, move in a household, or load an existing household.  I was wondering if your old household was available on the map when you chose to load a household.  But since you said you tried with a different household and no one lives in the original household's apartment, this approach I described would not be possible.
