Sims 3 freezing on my macbook pro

I have a macbook pro and the past three days or so my sims 3 seasons has been freezing making it unbearable to even try to play.  I am not sure if this has anything to do with it but, my sims3.com is also not working on my macbook pro.  Its not working in safari or when i open the sims 3 starter.  it just says "oops we are not able to process your request".  I am not sure if it something with my computer or my game.  My game has absolutely no scratches on it and I haven't changed anything the past few weeks.  Hopefully you could help me out!
