I had this problem a while ago. Try turning down your graphic settings. The file might just be to big for your computer.

I have my graphics turn down already, also play in windows mode.

  Seems you have both a Nvidia Card and a Intel chip.
  
  Make sure the game runs on the card: http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2013/06/getting-the-game-to-recognize-your-card.html
  
  (second part, first part is obsolete)
  
  Also make sure your Nvidia drivers are also up-todate
