Sims 3 Game Update Help!

What is your current patch level? If you are already at 1.67 then you are already up to date. If the message you are seeing is something about the game being incompatible with the expansion you are trying to install, that message can usually be ignored. If you are not patched to 1.67 and the updates through the game launcher are not working then you can download the patch manually.
