I have this issue now as well. I just opened Origin, and I got a small update for The Sims 3, after which the game won't start at all. It keeps asking me to disable some expansion / stuff packs to make the game run better. I disabled High-End Loft stuff pack, Supernatural and Into the Future, but it didn't fix it. Before I ran into these problems today, I did purchase Outdoor Living stuff pack.
I tried resetting to factory settings without uninstalling http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2011/06/tutorial-resetting-the-game-to-factory-settings-without-reinstalling.html but it didn't help.
Yesterday before any updates or additional stuff packs the game worked just fine.
My system specs: Windows 7, 8GB RAM, Radeon HD7870, AMD Phenom II X4 965.
I've put a picture of the issue (sorry, it's in Finnish, but it basically says: "For the best experience, we recommend using only a few packs at a time, etc.")

You can ignore the message. Just click on that you don't want to see it anymore and it should not pop-up anymore.
Is Origin running ok in the background ?
Does the game never start or close right away ?
Can you see the process ts3.exe pop-up in your task manager or what happens ?
- ApprovedAnonymous10 years agoI think origin is working okay because when I tried to open the game through it, it later said that the last time played was today even though I haven't actually played it 😞 Also the game never actually opens, I get the blue loading circle on my mouse but then it goes away and the game doesn't open, and nothing to do with the sims, besides origin, shows up in the task manager either 😑
Thank you for replying though 🙂- crinrict10 years agoHero+
