Sims 3 Graduation lacking the added trait

I recently re-downloaded the whole game so I doubt it has to do with a corrupt file. This is the 5th time this has happened where my sim does not get the added trait after graduation. Only two out of...

    If the graduation doesn't go as planned cause of routing issues, it's quite common. Yeah, just don't invite anyone. It's not worth the trouble.

    Thanks Crin, I even teleported her to the door and she just walked back behind the crowd. lol. Thanks for letting me know what I suspected was right. I would hate to have to redownload the entire game again. At least the game has only crashed once since I did that.
