Sims 3 Installation- language install problems

Why is it when I ask for the English language install of Sims 3 I am getting a different language being installed of the sims 3 ?  How can i fix this?  Can I go into a dos prompt and change some sett...

do you mean the language the sims speak to each other ? or the in game notices for example your sim became friends with so and so
