Sims 3 Keeps Minimizing in Full Screen

I've been playing Sims 3 for a couple of days now and last night it was working just fine, though today I go to open it and it will minimize in full screen mode. I've been able to switch it to windowed mode and I can play just fine, though the game is really small and I would like to put it back in full screen mode, is there a way to fix this?

@rosiewrld Does the game minimize after you've expanded it again? Is it possible you're getting a notification from Windows or another app while playing? If so, you can turn off notifications while gaming.

You could also try using Windowed Borderless Gaming, a free tool that works quite well with Sims 3. It gives you the fullscreen look with the functionality of windowed mode, so it should avoid the minimizing issues.
