Sims 3 Launcher not able to connecdt to EA.

I've reinstalled my Sims 3 on new installed disk drive, When the Launcher shows up and I click 'login' a Warrning sign pops up saying that for security reasons the browser will not fit on the screen. When I click the 'use this' blue line MS Internet Explorer pops up and I'm connected with Sims 3 Community.

I can not stand and will never use MS Internet Explorer.

When I go back to the launcher and I click on update  (thinking that maybe the update will fix this problem) it says: Can not connect to ea:

Anybody else have this problem?
