SIMS 3 Mac - "The app needs to be updated by the developer"

Hello, I just won a code for Sims 3 on the EA App but, when after redeeming and downloading it, I cannot install the game. When I try to start the setup file, it says that the developer needs to update it. Does anyone knows what can I do to solve it?

    @alvarasjesssica  Please list the full specs of your Mac: everything under About This Mac including the OS and except for the serial number.

    This error likely means the EA App is trying to install the 32-bit version rather than the 64-bit version.  The question is why.  You should have access to both, and the App should choose the correct one.
