Sims 3 nintendo wii help

Why won't it let me place the house type that I want on any of the lots on sims 3 nintendo wii? Every time I try to place it on any of the lots, it tells me that the amount of items that can be placed on the lot has reached maximum and if I don't remove objects, a fire may start. I really want a particular house type and it doesn't work.
