Re: Code redeemed but game not showing in my EA library

I purchased The Sims 3 game through Instant Gaming because I figured I could save 20 dollars and purchase it for less than $5, I got my activation code, redeemed it, and it was downloading until I got a message saying I needed to open it in the base game Game Hub and I am very confused on what that is. I contacted Instant Gaming and they said it was mainly on EA's behalf as there was nothing wrong with the code

What if I purchase from unauthorized digital retailers?

Buying EA digital games from unauthorized sellers comes with a few risks. The following information can help keep you and your account protected.

Our games are sold at various online and in-store retailers across the world, but sometimes these retailers aren't all they seem to be.

Each purchase made from an unauthorized retailer carries risk. Make sure to keep your account and personal information safe.

    • At best, you might get the wrong product or language version of a game you buy.
    • At worst, unauthorized websites may be phishing for your EA Account or payment info. This can result in losing access to your account or fraudulent activity with your payment details.
    • It’s also possible that unauthorized retailers will sell you a fake, used, or stolen CD key or Product Code.
    • Additionally, any illegally obtained games and Product Codes will be disabled by us. That means you won’t be able to play your game or redeem your virtual currencies.
    • EA Advisors won't be able to help you with games you bought from unauthorized retailers or illegally.

    Hey EA_Barry,

Thanks for the generic scare tactics, but your post isn’t helpful at all.

We’re not here stealing games or doing anything illegal — we’re buying legit, paid-for EA game keys from reputable third-party sellers like Instant Gaming, who are official resellers with millions of customers worldwide.

The problem isn’t with the source of the key — it’s with EA’s broken app and account management that loses track of valid purchases, cancels downloads, and makes players jump through hoops to get what they paid for.

Instead of blaming customers and threatening with “illegal codes will be disabled” — how about fixing your software and customer support?

People expect EA to own their issues, not just push responsibility off onto the buyer.

If EA wants to keep gamers happy and loyal, stop the blame game and start solving real problems.
