Unfortunately, there are known solutions to most Mac crashing. However, your computer should not be overheating from it. Do you hear the fan running loudly or what signs are you seeing that you think it's overheating? What kind of system are you running the game on? Macbook Air? Macbook Pro? Also, what version operating system do you have?
Yes the fan is kicking on high and the bottom is amazingly hot, then the game crashes. It's a Macbook pro and it's my friends so I'm not sure I believe is Lion so osx 10.7
Well you should lower the graphics settings, disable advanced rendering, disable smoothing animation, play in windowed mode (not full screen)---all this helps, but won't fix the problem. Also play short game sessions, spend minimal time in CAS, and the less CC, store items, EPs and SPs you have, the better/longer you'll be able to play for. Even if you do all this, the game will still crash and the overheating will wear down the system eventually, just an fyi, but it will help the situation. The best thing would be to play it on a Windows system.
