Save doesn't load properly

I am going through the same thing. I have been playing on my new Macbook fine for months. I open my sims 3 a couple days ago and all of a sudden all my money is gone. My sims panel I cannot open. My sim I cannot control either. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I have cleared cache as I am told to. Nothing works. I have tried clearing space off my computer, that didnt work. I dont know what to do at this point. I know I did updates off my laptop and I dunno if that was the cause, I dont know what else it can be. I dont wanna not play my sims 3. ow can this be fixed?!?!?!

    ittybittymuggle​  I've split your post into its own thread because the other thread was extremely old.

    What you've described is a corrupt save that has failed to load properly.  If you'd still like help recovering it, are you willing to add a few mods to help?  When save corruption is this progressed, sometimes there's nothing to be done, but a lot of the time, mods can help get the save back to a playable state.
