Sims 3 pets won’t install on PS3

Hi all

Update: I have since tried to install the game on two other PS3s.

Another PS3 Slim and my friends PS3 120GB fat console. (Thinking it may be the physical build of the PS3 since it worked fine on my old one).  

And same problem. Freezes at 100% and wont install.

So it is either the disc, internet connect, the fact the Sims 3 pets server has been taken offline, PS3 updates have prevented installation or something else. 

I am curious has anyone been able to install Sims 3 pets on their PS3 after November??  If so I may try and buy a new disc, but like I said it doesn't look like it has any scratches.

I have been trying to install Sims Pets 3 on the PS3 slim for the last two days to no end.

I had the game installed and working fine on my old PS3, until it died. So I have since then recently brought a new 500GB PS3 slim and when I got to play the game it goes to install game data then freezes at 100%. If I quit the game installation and go back into it just keeps trying to install.  

At first I thought it wasn’t working because I had trophies on my account already, so I created a new user on the PS3 but still it didn’t install.

I have tried installing other PS3 games and they work fine.

It gets to 100% so I don’t think it has to do with a scratched disc and it is pretty clean anyway. Though I may try buying a new disc if nothing else works.

I have tried doing system file restart and data rebuild, it didn’t help. I really don’t won’t to reset the PS3 back to factory settings but if this has worked for other people I will. But hopefully there is something I am not doing right before I have to take such drastic measures. I also have deleted any existing Sims 3 pet’s data.

When googling this issue others have said they get a patch update notification? I am not getting that. So as the EA Sims pet’s server has been shut down does that mean I can’t get the patch? I tried looking for it in PSN store couldn’t find it anywhere. I was going to even buy the game from the PSN store but it is disc only.  (My internet is connected, so that is not the reason the patch is not popping up).
