Sims 3 refusing to launch.

Hello,

I contacted EA back at Christmas time to ask for help on why my game refuses to launch on my gaming laptop and not my old outdated laptop, I had help but I didn't get the right answers and in the end I gave up with trying to fix it.

I have now decided I would like to try again now that I have bought the Humble Bundle which includes downloadable content that I would like to try. The Sims has been updated successfully and I manage to get to the launcher okay but the Script Error 864 that I had over 9 months ago still pops up and as soon as I click to play I get directed to a blank screen and then to my desktop and the game crashes. 

I have gone to being able to play 7 minutes of Sims to none. 

I have a GFORCE GT 630M which has 2GB of memory (graphics drivers, java and all other requirements are up to date) , I have plenty of RAM and memory to store the game but it refuses to work and it is frustrating that I have wasted my money.

I would be grateful for the help.
