Sims 3 Root?

I am trying to make some CC for the Sims 3, and the program I am using keeps asking for my Sims 3 root. What and where is this? 😠

    @hotziggity That folder is where your user files (saved games, screenshots,...) are stored, but unless you changed the location in Steam, the game itself should be in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\.

I got it on Steam though so it isn't under there. And I installed it to C:\Users\catluver\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3.
