Reset your PC simplest way to describe how to fix whats happened, then run Origin as a administrator.Right click Origin shortcut and choose Run as Admin - After this load My Games - Right click Sims 3 then check for updates again if this does not work, try Right click Sims 3 and select Repair install. Go make urself a cuppa while this does its work.
When i right click it doesnt come up with either of these options
What is your base game version right now ?

The patch i need also wont install. it comes up saying 'an error has occured'
