Sims 3 Supernatural Installation Issue
A few days ago, I bought all The Sims 3 expansion packs from a thrift shop. I was able to install six of them without any issue (I'm also installing them all in order), but when I got to Supernatural it wouldn't install. It keeps saying "File D:\GameData\shared\packages\fullbuild_p15.package error:data error (cyclic redundancy check)". I've cleaned my registery with CCleaner and I've cleaned the disk (it's not dirty or scratched), but it still keeps saying the same thing. I can't download Supernatural on Origin using the code because it says that the code has already been redeemed. I'm not sure what else to do, so if anyone could help with this I'd greatly appreciate it! 🙂
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I've already contacted EA Help. Unfortunately, nothing so far. They've only asked for my Origin ID, game code and where I got the game from. After giving them the information, they just told me to contact EA Help which is what I've already done?? 🤨
Hello @Shvnnxn,
This error means the disk is damaged or scratched and the drive is unable to read the disk. To get around this error, typically you'd redeem the digital code in Origin instead to download a digital version of the game.
However, if you've bought a second-hand copy of the game, and you're receiving an error that the code has already been redeemed, then you won't be able to redeem the code again. Codes can only be redeemed once and registered to one EA account. If this code has already been redeemed and registered to another EA account, you won't be able to register the game to your account as well. You'd need to reach out to the retailer you purchased this copy of Supernatural from for a refund, or a replacement instead.
