Sims 3/ Supernatural unable to play

I got Sims 3 for the holidays, and it worked wonderfully well. Then I got the Supernatural game. I can play Supernatural just fine, no lagging no problems at all. Sims 3 the original on the other had loads fine, however it does not run well at all. The game will start playing just fine, then 30 seconds into it there is a lag that last for 30 to 40 seconds. The game will play for five seconds, then lag again. It is driving me crazy. Yes, I have a system that will run it, I have tried resetting the screen options. I even deleated and reloaded the game.  I do not have disks for the games I bought them off Steam, and they are linked so I cannot unload and reload just one.

I want to be able to play both games so any advice help would be welcome.

Thank you.

  • I don't fully understand what you are saying.

Supernatural is an expansion pack and cannot be played standalone. So if you play the game, you play both the base game and supernatural.

Are you saying, that the game works fine in a supernatural savegame but not in an older one you've played before you hade SN ?

Here's some more tips on lagging: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Lags-amp-Freezes/td-p/646

Yes, the game works fine when I play in the Supernatural, but not when I play my original game. I cannot even move my Sims to the library to relocate them to the Supernatural town. I have tried the cheat codes for a reset, and I have looked for stuck cars, extra Sims etc. I will check the link you posted to see if there is something on there that I have not done.

    Thank you.

If it's just one savegame, it's bound to be something about that game.

What city are you playing with your Original game ?
