I've been trying for so long for the Sims 3 to have a normal resolution on my computer but even changing the settings in the options file will not change the resolution. It will only show options that match the resolution on my computer, which is too wide for the game to look normal. Does anyone know why this might be happening or a way around it? Thanks
@aswift39 Are you trying to play in fullscreen or windowed mode? In fullscreen, if you were to choose an in-game resolution that had a standard (e.g. 16:9) aspect ratio, the game would look extremely distorted. The workaround is to play in windowed mode, where you should be able to choose a better resolution or else resize the game window to your liking. You might need to restart the game after changing the settings to get the full effect.
If this doesn't help, please let me know what resolution your monitor uses and what options are available in-game.
