Adderley101 Please do a clean uninstall of the game, as described here:

Reinstall to a new location (a folder you create for this purpose), and don't make any changes to the game's program files before trying to play. The Alder Lake patch is unnecessary for an EA App install—the game was patched to fix the problem—and can only break things, so skip that entirely along with any other workarounds meant to address the original issue.

I've just followed all the steps and downloaded the app changed the folder name to "bestgame" uninstalled both ea and sims 3 did the advanced scans, restarted came back here clicked the link for ea and redownloaded it and created the new folder to redownload it to launched the game once the start came up and still got the black screen and error message
Adderley101 Why did you reset your computer? There wasn't any need to do that, at least not yet.
Since you have though, please create a new admin Windows account and try playing there. Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account or any email address. (Keep saying you don't have that info until you see some security questions instead.) You'll be able to try to open Sims 3 without reinstalling anything.
The new account's name should contain only letters found in the Roman alphabet, and possibly numbers—no special characters or accents. The name test would be fine.
If this doesn't help, let me know what antivirus you use. If you don't think you have anything other than Windows Defender, double-check the Task Manager, including the background processes list, to make sure nothing else is running. Many computers come with a third-party antivirus pre-installed, and sometimes the reset process can reinstall an AV that shipped with the computer but has since been removed.
