So at christmas i got the sims 3 university life as a present and downloaded it via origin but when the sims 3 launcher comes up and i press play nothing happens, the game doesn't run at all, i've tried uninstalling origin and reinstalling same with the sims 3 and university life, the game works perfectly fine if university life isn't installed, i have no idea what to do and i'm super frustrated, help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, the game is up to date, i've had to update manually because every time i tried to update it automatically it just said "Unable to connect to origin"

I really need help, i'm stressing out here.
I did post a forum but i didn't receive a reply...
So, when i open the sims 3 launcher i get an error message which says "unable to connect to EA download manager", when i select okay and press play it just disappears and the application is no longer running.
The sims 3 base game works fine on it's own but when i install university life or late night, it doesn't run at all.
The game is up to date, i used the superpatch.
Origin is allowed access on every form of protection on my laptop, i've tried to bypass the launcher, uninstall and reinstall origin, the sims 3 and both expansion packs.
Please help i just really want to fix this
