Sims 3 updating and Super patch

Hi, when i have opened up the Sims 3 launcher and allow for the download to complete. But for some reason it didn't work multiple times when I let it finished downloading. Then, I looked up the problem and found that other people have the same problem. They said to download the Super Patch and I tried it it. But when it finished it didn't work multiple times. After I tried to download the Super Patch the same box showed up saying that a software update is available. Would you like to update. I just want to know how update to 1.67 so I could use store content. Just take in consideration that I already tried the Super Patch but it failed.

    Did you try the 1.67 manual file or the smaller ones ?

    What's your operating system ?

    What is your base game version right now ?

    Open the launcher and check the number in the lower left corner.

    The version I am in right now is 1.42.

    What is the manual file or smaller one?

    I am operating on a computer(not a mac) through origin.

    I forgot but that is the Super Patcher that I tried to download but didn't work.

    are you using firefox or IE? Chrome and Safari sometimes don't work. Also try clearing your internet browser before trying to download the patch. See if any of that works

    Do you Have windows 8 or 8.1 , I forgot IE has new security and could be an issue, Try firefox

    Than try firefox instead Possible IE security could interfear with your download
