Sims 3 was crashing so I uninstalled. Now it's stuck at "100% complete Installing"

I'm not the best with computers, but I think it's broken Origin, too, because it won't let me go online anymore. I make exemptions for origin and origin games in the firewall, and in Avast. I can't figure out how to turn Avast off completely, and I'm not sure I want to. I got Avast to stop for ten minutes, but that didn't change anything. Oh, and if I go through Program Files 86 to try to install Sims3, it will only give me the option to UN-install it. If I run the launcher, it says unable to start, please re-install base game.

It's up and running again, as long as I run it from "administrator" mode. Still deathly sluggish, but c'est la vie. Better than nothing, I suppose.

turning your fire wall off will do no harm as long as you dont go on bad websites. i think its orgin thats messed up. as long as you have sims on your accont and severy thing elce you may have, i would uninstall and re install origin. if that dose not work or if you dont want to take the risk. try uninstalling the sims with a uninstaller program. like iobit. that may work and if it all fails, send a email to origin and hope for the best (or free stuff).

Thanks, it looks like origin might have been the problem after all! I chatted with an EA rep who got me to obliterate the sims from my computer but that's a lengthy process, so they ended chat while I was doing that. =/ I'll see how this goes! Thank you!
