Sims 3 won't play with expansion pack
I bought the Sims 3 3in1 from origin (it had Sims 3 base, high end loft stuff, and Sims 3 late night expansion pack.) I downloaded Sims 3 without a issue and started to play while the expansion pack ...

I am uing Norton and I have Wondows 8.1
Do you have .net enabled: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2785188/en ?
Can you try disabling Norton to see if the game starts then ?
I assume all games show up in myGames ?

Yes my .net is enabled and I have tried without the Norton...it still doesnt work (yeah it does show up in my Games.)
