I have tried everything on the list, and after a few moments of researching on my own, i found out i cannot launch the installationsprogram for sims 3, and i get up the messange (sorry for a bad translation) "Installasion program for the sims 3 must be updated. This program need a update from the developer to be able to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information."
@Sylviadj I take it you're running Catalina, and if so, that's the issue: Sims 3 is a 32-bit app, and Catalina is 64-bit only. There's no way around this error. But EA has announced a 64-bit-compatible version of the game for macOS, to be released some time this year. Here's the full announcement:
In the interim, your only options are to play on another computer, to install a second OS on your Mac (via Bootcamp or Parallels), or to install an earlier OS on an external drive and boot into that. If you only recently bought the game and don't want to wait for the update, you can request a refund from EA.
