Sim's clothing went a shiny black and his face is mottled.

Since the latest patch (1.48.5), one of my sims' clothing turned a shiny pitch black from the neck down and his face looks like it has camouflage markings.

I have tried playing the sim in a completely new game (he was saved to the library after creation) and the problem is still there. He looks fine on the preview but as soon as the new game loads, there he is, with the same issue.

I read somewhere on a post a couple years old that this was something that happened after a patch.

I guess there is a conflict with a whole bunch of these default skins, but from what they said you have to uninstall the default skins, then reinstall them in the game, then put any sims you have back into CAS and reapply the skins to fix them. Granted I have no clue how you get the Sims from a household into CAS, but apparently there is a way to do it."

I have no idea how to "uninstall the default skins and then reinstall them." Isn't that just uninst/reinst the game? I found a mod to get them into CAS. Just not sure if this is the way to go if this is a known issue or is a new issue with the latest patch?

    Could you post a picture ? To do so, upload it t some image sharing site and link it here.

    Are you using custom content in your game ? Like custom skins and/or do you download Sims from other sites and the exchange ?

    Also what is your operatig system.

    I re-installed the game as was suggested in a previous thread and it seems to have fixed itself. I think it had something to do with the patch even though it did nothing major to the game itself. Something about the default skins needing to be reloaded perhaps?

     The character who had the issue wasn't using any CC, though I do have some in game. I try and limit the use of CC so as to avoid major conflicting issues. 🙂

     And because you asked, my OS is W7.
